Faithfulness

First Move 2023.
Day Seven.

Faithfulness:
Being loyal to a task or duty to which you have been commissioned. 

Example a president; politician,career, teacher, marriage etc 

Matt 20:8 - 16
8 “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ 9 And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. 11 And when they had received it, they [c]complained against the landowner, 12 saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ 13 But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’ 16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For[d] many are called, but few chosen.”

It is not uncommon to struggle with the thought of this scripture. And how can it be fair.
     In this text laborers were hired to work at 9am, 12pm, 3pm and 5pm. They all agreed to the pay which the master provided. Which was a denarius or equivalent to a day's wages at that time. 
At the end of the day those who started at 5pm got the same wages as those who began at 9am. Obviously those who started at 9am were angry with the master and thought he was being unfair to them. 
 
   As I read this Scripture I saw the hidden value of Faithfulness. God looks at the heart condition of an individual and not their quantity of work. Quantity is welcome if it is coupled with Faithfulness.

    I want to encourage you to be faithful to your place of employment. God sees your faithfulness and you will receive the favor of Man in due season. Be faithful in little and you will be ruler of much. Do not begrudge others when God is promoting them. Favor is no respecter of persons but it finds the faithful.

Faithfulness is a fruit of the Spirit. As you fast today I hope you will allow the Holy to bear this fruit in you.

It's not how long you serve but how you serve.
